Nursery

For Nicolas's nursery AJ and I decided on a owl theme. We wanted something a bit different from the rest. I knew I wanted to paint (attempt) a tree near his crib and place an owl in it. Other than that I really had no idea what we were going to do. The room was painted a very vibrant red that took many coats of primer to cover and 1 of the walls had a grass/wallpaper on that was a pain to remove. But once we (with help from my mom) got the walls all primed and wall paper free, we had a blank canvas to work with.
Here is what we have so far. We painted 3 walls brown and 1 wall green.

We are not using that rocker as it is too low, and has seen better days, we will be putting our glider there.

AJ removed the old closet and put it beautiful cherry wood shelves.

Long time no post

It has been forever since I have posted anything on my poor neglected blog. One thing I have been up too is growing this baby. Once I found out I was pregnant I have been so preoccupied. I have not been in "craft mode" for the last several months, and am now 8 months pregnant and finally feel the craft juices starting to creep back in. The latest project has been the babies room, will post pics in a bit

Valentine's

I typically do not decorate for Valentines Day, however, the craft open house I am holding is Feb 12th and I thought it would be fun to have a VDAY theme. I took a short break from sewing pillows and found this adorable tree.

I wasn't sure what its destination was, but I knew I couldn't pass it up. So after some thought I busted out my brand new MEGA super duper glue gun (compliments of AJ) and hot glued some conversation hearts to the branches of my little tree.

Burlap Burlap Burlap

I am wild about burlap right now. It is so rustic and messy. I really enjoy working with it.  I used it to make several wreaths but have now found a new LOVE for burlap pillows. Here are a few I made last night.

A burlap tutorial will follow.

Sleep

So last night *early yesterday morning I posted because I could not sleep and here I am up posting right around the same time after sleeping but not be able to stay asleep for long. Its madness I tell ya.

I am really looking forward to the Open House we are holding here and it has been fun getting the stuff together for my booths. I am thankful in my life that I have the OP to look forward to and to focus on. I have been on "bedrest" (no I am not pregnant) and I would be getting stir crazy if I had to lay and do nothing. Currently I lay and dream about the OP and hot gluing Lima beans on a wreath, or making felt flowers. Its like a sickness- Im addicted to crafting!!

The weirdest part about it this whole sick thing is missing work.  I am fairly new in the ED and with this break I have really decided it is where I want and should be. I feel connected to many of the other nurses, I feel it fits my personality to a T and it is very educational and occasionally ( ha, almost always) is a stimulating place to work. I work with smart, caring, fun people who, like me for some crazy reason love what they do. And that is a great feeling to have my friend.

So no pics this update although I will tell you my guest bedroom (kitchen, craft-room, garage) look like a craft wonderland.

Hope you all have a wonderful day. I will update with some photos later.
